For the drawings, I prefer thin cardboard and compressed charcoal or graphite pencils. For sketches and retouching, I use combinations of B, 2B and 4B pencils (Fabercastell or Lyra).

For illustrations and web design, the "tools of the trade" are: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe/Macromedia Dreamweaver, EditPlus Text Editor. In frontend development, I also find quite indispensable some Firefox plugins (Web Developer Toolbar and Firebug).
